Dual Edge Connectors Now Available From Sullins Connector Solutions

Double-Row, Dual Card Edge Slots, High-Temperature Connectors Facilitate Board-to-Board Connections without Soldering

Sullins Connector Solutions, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of RoHS-compliant board level interconnect products, expanded their comprehensive offering of high-temperature devices to include a full series of double-row, Dual Edge Connectors. The new series is specifically engineered to facilitate board-to-board extensions, and to serve as board savers in board stacking and board extension applications without desoldering. The standard dual-row, 0.100″ (2.54 mm) pitch connectors accept a 0.062″ (1.57 mm) thick PC board in both slots and are offered with from 5 to 60 contacts per row. Optionally available are 0.125″ (3.18 mm) and 0.156″ (3.96 mm) contact center version with 5 to 40 pins per row. Developed to deliver unsurpassed signal integrity, parts ensure PCBs are aligned at the centerline to enable a uniform signal path across the length of the connector. These robust and reliable devices tested well with HTOL (High Temperature Operating Life), HAST (Highly Accelerated Stress Test), and LTOL (Low Temperature Operating Life). They are supplied in straddle mount terminations, with flush mounting holes, or no mounting, to ensure optimal design flexibility. Sullins Connector Solutions, Inc., a leader in the design and manufacturing of RoHS-compliant board level interconnect products, has expanded their comprehensive portfolio of high-temperature devices to include Hi-Temp 0.100″ (2.54 mm) contact centerline male headers that support an operating temperature range of -65 degrees C to +150 degrees C. The new single- and dual-row Hi-Temp headers are offered to complement Sullins’ full series of Hi-Temp dual-row card edge connectors which support an operating temperature range of -65 degrees C to +250 degrees C, and are provided in 0.039″ (1.0 mm), 0.050″ (1.27 mm), 0.100″ (2.54 mm), 0.125″ (3.18 mm) and 0.156 (3.96 mm) contact centerline versions. Engineered to provide unparalleled design flexibility and manufacturing efficiency, parts may be ordered in dip solder, wire wrap, right angle bend, and card extender termination styles, as well as in straight and right angle plated through hole (PTH) and surface mount (SMT) versions. Available mounting styles include clearance holes, flush mounting, threaded inserts, straddle mount, floating bobbin, side mounting and open card slot. The new headers are available with varied head and tail length options to permit custom and standard applications. Highly reliable and durable, these connectors fully support the PCIe standards for signal and power as well as auxiliary signals at the interface between the motherboard and add-in card. The 1.00 mm pitch, one-piece parts feature slots accepting 1.58 mm (0.062”) thick add-on graphics cards for user upgrades and support x1, x4, x8, x16, x24, and x32 contact positions to accommodate an extensive range of bandwidth requirements. Sullins Connector Solutions, Inc., a leader in the design and manufacturing of RoHS-compliant board level interconnect products, extended their comprehensive portfolio of Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDC) to include the 0.100” (2.54 mm) contact centerline SFH IDC Series Socket and SIP IDC Series DIP Plugs. The new precision-engineered devices, along with Sullins’ 0.050” (1.27 mm) and 0.079” (2.00 mm) pitch IDC sockets, provide OEMs and ODMs with an easy and inexpensive solution to reduce the time and applied costs of wiring installations. The SFH devices simply and quickly mass terminate single-layer, 0.050” (1.27 mm) 28 AWG flat ribbon cable in one step. Sockets may be ordered with strain relief to promote long life and with polarizing keys to ensure proper mating alignment.
